Stress management techniques help reduce activation associated with psychosocial stress.   Reducing stress is associated with an improvement in sleep quality. Likewise, people who do not manage their stress well can worsen the impact of stress on sleep and prolong its duration. 

There are many techniques that can help reduce anxiety and stress and improve their management:  cognitive-behavioral techniques, physical relaxation techniques, breathing control techniques,mental relaxation techniques and meditation and Mindfulness.

On many occasions the effects of acute stress on sleep are resolved when the stressor has been resolved, for this reason  it is recommended to go to psychological therapy.
