Caffeine stimulates the nervous system, increasing alertness and acts by blocking adenosine receptors. 

Its effect appears between twenty-five and forty-five minutes after ingestion and lasts between three and seven hours.   In addition, the duration of the effect increases with age.

The effect of caffeine depends on the time it is consumed, the amount and the habit of taking it.

Even if you can sleep after drinking coffee, it has been observed that sleep remains in the most superficial states, so the quality of sleep is affected.

It is not recommended to stop consuming caffeine suddenly.
